September 18, 2017 -- As part of Ontario's 16-point Fair Housing Plan, the provincial government has just announced that it will be unlocking surplus land at two downtown Toronto locations for developments of rental units and affordable housing.
The province is launching a process to secure a developer for two sites at West Don Lands near the Distillery District, and then a site each at 27 Grosvenor Street and 26 Grenville Street. These developments will create 2,000 rental units of mixed-income housing. Of those units, 30 per cent, or 600 units, are earmarked for affordable housing.
